Not only do people frequently overcomplicate SEO, but there are also many misconceptions that make understanding SEO more difficult. Ready to learn about how to be more effective?

1. SEO is only done once.

Actually SEO is a process that you should be continually refining. You won't get it right on the first try. Trends change and so does technology. SEO must be continually monitored and implemented in order to increase the online rankings of your company.

2. Link quantity is most important.

Link QUALITY is what actually matters. Including rich links into websites and articles increases your company's credibility, therefore making your site more trustworthy.

3. Keyword stuffing matters.

This used to matter a lot. However, new algorithms make sure you are providing quality content instead of using as many keywords as possible.

4. Keyword encryption killed SEO.

When Google Analytics began to make keywords difficult to access, many just assumed that SEO would no longer be a factor in website ranking. However, there are simple ways around this issue and SEO is very much alive and well.

5. Guest Blogging won't work.

Guest blogging is only ineffective when the content is spam. However, when the content is relevant and helpful it aids in SEO.

6. Content marketing has replaced SEO.

Believe it or not- content marketing works alongside SEO. Content created with keywords in the headline, subtitles and the copy and include links to trustworthy websites still effects SEO.
